November Idea of the Month

November is associated with Thanksgiving here in the US. And giving thanks to such an important part of spiritual practice. In fact, it is SO important, it could suffice as your whole spiritual practice. It is that important.

In giving thanks, you have to give thanks to someone or something, right? Who or what is that? It would be the Divine Presence. It would be Universal Intelligence. It would be Divine Love. It would be God.

So just by giving thanks, you are acknowledging God in your life. You are acknowledging the Divine Presence -- its very existence and its action in your life.

Build up your thanks-giving muscle every day. A consistent practice of thanksgiving will raise your consciousness of the Divine in your life.

Until next time,

October Idea of the Month

In both the newsletter feature article (have you subscribed yet?!) and the Idea of the Month on the website (www.consciouskernels.com), we discuss the idea of claiming our good and demanding our good.

Do we have the right to claim our good? Are we in a position to demand our good? Where do we have to be in our self-contemplation to be in a position to claim and demand?

Do we believe it is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom? Or are we on our own, scraping by and fighting for what we can get?

It is all in where you place yourself in the whole scheme of the Universe.

Tell me what you think. Are you able to demand your good?

Until next time,
Namaste

September Idea of the Month

This month in the newsletter and on the website we are talking about FEAR! Maybe I should have saved that topic for the month that contains Halloween!

What are you afraid of? What are you fearful of? Fear is our most constant companion as far as feelings go. It is the most common and the most influential. Practically everything we do or don't do has associated with it any fearful consequences we can think of.

But if you break fear down into its most basic element, fear is only one thing: the belief in the absolute certainty that we are separate and apart from our good.

I'm over here and my good (safety, money, health, relationship, love, happiness, God) is over there, somewhere else.

This could not be further from the Truth. But we believe it anyway.

Think of an example of what you are fearful of and see if it ultimately leads to you believing that you do not have your good, or you are not with your good, or that you can be separate from your good (your good taken away from you). It ends up with that belief.

Now, how do you reduce any fear? Start reaffirming the Truth. You are your good are one. You cannot be separated from it. You cannot be separate of it.

I did not say this was easy. But it is simple when you think about it.

Share your fears. Then turn it around and think of an affirming Truth that will remove the fear or at least make it smaller and weaker.

Until next time,
Namaste

August Idea of the Month

This month in the newsletter, we talk about Willingness.

What are you willing to give, do, be? Especially the "give" part. What are you willing to give in any situation, whether that be a conflict, problem, challenge, in order for a desired outcome to be experienced?

Are you willing to give your money? Are you willing to give your time? Are you willing to lend a hand? Are you willing to let go?

Here's the loving part of Spirit though. Just by being willing, Spirit is going to more than meet you half way in the resolution of a challenge or in the manifesting of a desire.

You see, it is the willingness, the openness of heart, that shows Spirit that "you mean business." That you have the conviction and focus of what you say you want.

You cannot out-give God. When you say, in all sincerity, I am willing to give __________, Spirit, by its very nature, gives back to you more.

When I am willing to give of myself in any situation, it invariably turns out that the situation resolves itself without me actually having to do anything! The willingness sometimes is enough -- if it is sincere.

Say I'm willing to pick someone up at the airport. It is inconvenient, I have to change plans, etc. But I am willing to do it and as the day approaches, I prepare for it. Invariably, things will work out in a way that the person gets someone else to pick them up. Or they rent a car. Or they take public transportation. Whatever the particulars, it turns out that they don't need me to pick them up anymore.

Do you think that would have happened if I had moaned and complained and didn't prepare for picking them up? No. I would have had to pick them up and get to moan and complain and resent it even more!

A cheerful willingness will change your life. But don't take my word for it. Try it yourself and see if things don't work out for you just by being willing.

Let's here from people on whether this has worked for them. Post your experiences here.

Until next time.

July Idea of the Month and Feature Article

July, for the Idea of the Month, we discussed freedom and independence in conjunction with the US holiday of the Fourth of July (Independence Day). We are all free because we can think whatever we want to think. But are we at all independent? Independent of the limited and negative self-talk of race-thought? Most likely not! This is what we should declare on Independence Day -- our independence from judging by appearances, from going along with what most people think, from duality thinking of good and bad.

July's feature article is about doing our mental work -- treatment (or prayer) and then letting go and letting the Law do the work. Sometimes it is the most difficult thing to do -- letting go, not trying to control everything. Part of proper treatment work is saying your word, declaring your good and then letting Spiritual Law do the work. We try to manipulate conditions, we try to control other people. That is not how true creative manifesting happens.

Share your thoughts. Post your comments here.

Until next time.

June Idea of the Month and Feature Article Topics

This month, the Idea of the Month featured at the website (http://www.consciouskernels.com/) and the Feature Article in June's issue of the free monthly Conscious Kernels newsletter are both on the topic of timing.

Who's timetable are you living by? The limited, unknowing timetable of a human being (you!) or the all-knowing, all-good, all-harmonious timetable of Spirit?

Spirit knows no time really, but the experience of Spirit by us is through the convention of time. Do you always want stuff NOW!? Do you always want things done on your schedule?

And when you don't see it done on your schedule, what is your reaction? Do you get mad, frustrated, angry, depressed, resigned, sad, giving up? These are destructive and debilitating emotions and feelings. These will not help you in the long run to get in-synch with Spirit.

And that is what we all need to be doing -- geting in-synch with Spirit. Working with Spirit and not against It. Going with the flow of a loving and giving Universe.

Easier said than done, I know. I always have a whole list of things I want to get done by a certain time. Most of the time, that doesn't happen. Then I go through a range of the emotions listed above.

I decided that I would take a different approach in June. And this very morning, just the second day into this new month, Spirit gave me a test. I had my day pretty much planned out. But 15 minutes after I got up, my cat, Thelma, started experiencing a health issue. 15 minutes after that, I was on my way to the Vet with her.

She seems to be better now, thanks for asking.

But there went my plans for the morning. I said to the Universe, "this is not exactly what I had in mind when I said I would allow things to happen on your timetable, but OK, let's just go with it." But here was the test: Was I really committed to going with the flow or would I get all bent out of shape? I decided I would honor my commitment to allowing Spirit and do what I needed to do to help my friend.

About an hour and a half later, we were both home again. I kept an eye on her for awhile, then proceeded with my work and plans. As the day goes by, I'm going to monitor exactly what I don't get done because of the Thelma incident.

I bet it is not going to matter. I bet this morning's change-o-plans has no bearing on my efficiency today. We shall see. Maybe it will actually help me get more done. It certainly got me dressed and out of the house in a hurry!

Besides, what's an extra hour or two between friends?

Share your commments. I welcome your input.

Until next time, Namaste.

May Idea of the Month and Feature Article

Both the May Idea of the Month and the May Feature Article in the free monthly Conscious Kernels eNewsletter are about Divine Wisdom.

Are you letting Divine Wisdom guide your life? Do you block Divine Wisdom from helping you? Does your intuition tell you something and your intellect tell you not to listen to it!?

That happens alot. We second-guess ourselves. We ignore hunches, feelings, split-second ideas that flash into our minds.

We are always connected to Divine Wisdom. It is within us -- that is how connected we are to it!

Can you trust an idea that seems impossible to the intellect? Can you go with something that may seem unusual? Would you consider yourself "silly" for following a feeling?

You must remember that Divine Wisdom is WISE! It is not going to steer you wrong.

Share your ideas on Wisdom and intuition. Any great examples of following your intuition? Or what happened when you did not?

Until next time, Namaste
