This month we are talking about fear and faith. Fear is the antithesis of faith. Fear is anticipating something bad is going to happen. Fear is feeling that you will not be able to handle whatever comes your way.
The Faith we are talking about is the unquestioned belief in a principle and law of Good in this universe. A principle and law that we can direct and that responds to us and our faith in it.
In a universe that has this principle and law of good, there is no need to anticipate anything bad because it will never happen. If we stop anticipating the bad, then we have nothing to fear. Fear will dissolve into nothingness.
Are you living by a subconscious tendency toward fear? I know I have. And only by developing a stronger faith in the principle of Good, will that tendency be lessened.
It's not easy, but every step toward a greater and greater faith makes it possible.
Where do you have fear and where do you have faith?
Post your comments below.
Until next time,

February Idea of the Month
This month, we are talking about "Putting God First." One way to do that is with the "Golden Key" created by Emmet Fox, a pioneer of the New Thought/Unity movement.
I tried the "Golden Key" recently (for the first time in a long while) and I demonstrated a resolution to a situation that I've been dealing with for 3 years! I started "Golden Key-ing" the situation and about 2 or 3 weeks later, the situation is gone, over, resolved.
Why did I live with this situation so long? (that's for another discussion at another time)
To "Golden Key" a troublesome person or situation, just stop thinking about that person or situation and think of God instead. Announce to the Universe that you are "now Golden Key-ing _______". Sit quietly, like in meditation, and instead of a mantra repeated over and over, turn your thoughts to God. Repeat in your mind everything you know about God: God is Divine Wisdom, God is the only Power, God is unconditional Love, God is everywhere present, etc.
Repeat those ideas in your mind like a mantra or stream of consciousness. When you are finished (and you can do this for as long as you like or as short as you like), do not start worrying or obsessing about the person or situation again. That will negate the Golden Key. Just go about your business, as Emmet Fox says, and let the Law (God) do the work. The next time you find yourself thinking of this person or situation, Golden Key him/it again.
What you are doing is channeling the power of your thought FROM your problem to the Source of the solution (God).
Try the Golden Key. You will be amazed at how beautifully and harmoniously it works. It worked for me. It will work for you.
Then share your powerful demonstration here with us!

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone and welcome to an opportunity for a new beginning.
Every January 1 is a wonderful way to remind ourselves that every moment can be a new beginning. A new way to think, a new way to act, a new idea to believe. Take this opportunity to make a new beginning for yourself in some aspect of your life. We are always growing and learning and changing. This is our chance to consciously choose what we want to change, what we want to learn, or the direction in which we want to grow.
It is our God-given ability to consciously choose. As Troward says, we select and initiate a particular line of thought.
May that line of thought prosper you, heal you, delight you, and fulfill you!
Happy 2012!

December Idea of the Month
December seems like a good time to reflect on the past year. I've been very pleased with following "365 Science of Mind" by Ernest Holmes this entire past year to increase my spiritual practice and in sharing it with all of you each month.
December is the month of Light in "365 Science of Mind". Light is understanding. Light is wisdom. Light is spiritual guidance. Light is divine intelligence. We have all these within us. This is our opportunity to reflect on 2011 with greater understanding, with wisdom, with intelligence.
Once we know where we have been, we have a better understanding of where we are going and where we want to go. We all need to slow down, stop, take the time for some quiet reflection. Go into the silence and listen.
Happy Holidays to all!

November Idea of the Month
November is always associated with the Thanksgiving holiday. For most people it is all about food, family, football.
Which is all well and good. Especially if it makes the average person stop just for one minute and reflect on feelings of gratitude.
But we are seekers of spiritual growth. We want to be more than average. Thanksgiving and gratitude should be a daily practice. Is it for you?
Gratitude is acknowledging the workings of God in your life. It is recognizing the Power and the Presence. It is dwelling in the Spirit. It's a pause from our normal unconscious rushing-around living.
What a wonderful reminder.
Usually, we fixate on the ONE thing that is our latest problem. That means we ignore the thousands of things that are going RIGHT in our lives. I've done that. We've all done that.
Being grateful and thankful brings us back to those thousands of things. It makes us realize how blessed we are. We are blessed by God and we can show how much we appreciate it just by being thankful.
That's not too much to ask!
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and holiday season.
Until next time,
Namaste

The Passing of Steve Jobs
I join the world in mourning the loss of Steve Jobs. His unique expression of creativity can never and will never be duplicated.
He suffered from pancreatic cancer for 8 years.
As I watched the review of his life and accomplishments on many TV channels last night, it was mentioned that he sought out alternative treatment for his condition. Oh, how I wished he had found Religious Science in that pursuit. I'm not saying that if he had received Spiritual Mind Treatment from a Religious Science practitioner, that he would still be with us today. But it could have happened. He could have been healed.
Look up cancer and pancreas in Louise Hay's book "You Can Heal Your Life". Cancer is the repression of feelings, it is letting unexpressed feelings eat you up inside. Pancreas represents the sweetness of life. Something, at some point, took the sweetness out of Steve Job's life and he could not allow himself to express that.
In my opinion, it probably was when he was FIRED from his own company! Can you imagine? You found a company, it becomes big enough and successful enough that it needs a Board of Directors. And that Board turns around and pushes you out. Then when the company flounders without you and almost goes into bankruptcy, they come crawling back to you and begging you to come back. Which you do. And you turn the company around to become the first or second most valuable company in the world!
What does that say in general about the "corporate" mindset? Why do you think people are sick of corporations pulling crap like that. It is heartless behavior. And Steve Jobs, from what I know, said nothing of their treatment of him. He just came back and used his genius as he was meant to do.
He said his firing was the best thing that ever happend to him. I am not so sure. I think it was the beginning of his cancer.
Oh, how I wish he had found Religious Science.
Happy trails to you, Steve, on your new journey.
