December Idea of the Month

Happy Holidays everyone!

This month, we're talking about the flip-side of this season of Giving: Receiving.

Receiving?? Yes, receiving. You can't give if someone else doesn't receive.

In this season of holidays and gift-giving, as we give generously to family, friends, charities, etc., we must also be willing to be on the receiving end of the giving that's going on.

Not just from family and friends, but MOST importantly from the greatest giver of all -- God. God is always giving to us. Love, which is God, is unconditional givingness. We are the receivers of that Love and that Givingness, but we have to do our part and accept that giving, accept that Good.

That's what I'm really talking about. Not gifts from family or friends. All the gifts that God is trying to give you -- if you'd only accept them!

Accepting anything good requires us to feel worthy of it. That can be hard. We are always quick to criticize ourselves and diminish ourselves over our "faults" and "shortcomings." It is a huge step in consciousness to truly believe that you are the beloved child of God.

In this month of Christmas, we can remember that Jesus was not the only son of God. We are all the children of God.

Enjoy this season of Giving -- both on the giving end and the receiving end. And have a wonderful holiday!

Until next time,
Namaste

October Idea of the Month

Welcome to the month of October.

This month we're talking about "going with the flow". The Universe is a perfect, harmonious whole. There is a perfect Intelligence guiding it, creating it, moving within it.

If we just tap into that perfect Intelligence, we can go with that flow; we can hitch a ride on a smooth, effortless ride like floating down stream on a river.

The key and the "trick" is to tap into that Intelligence. How do we do that? With our own consciousness and thinking. We must think in a certain way that allows us to connect with Universal Intelligence. We, as individuals, have to do this for ourselves in our own way.

I'm sure we've all had those days when everything seemed to fall into place. The traffic lights were all green. Some one pulls out of a parking space just as you arrive to park. A phone call solves a scheduling issue. That -- whether you choose to believe it or not -- is being in the flow. No matter how mundane that seems because there is no big or little in Divine Mind.

Then we've all had days everything seems to go wrong -- even the littlest of things. How frustrating, how maddening. Now compare those feelings to the ones where everything is going right. Quite a difference! Just remember those good feelings as and when they happen. Then when things start going wrong, you can pick the frustrating feelings, or the good feelings and stop the "malfunction" in its tracks.

It will take effort on our parts, but the ride will be worth it!

Until next time,

Namaste

September Idea of the Month

Well, the summer has gotten away from me with my postings, but here we are in September -- the month of Expectation according to Ernest Holmes.

We have to be careful what we expect. Sometimes we expect less than the best. Sometimes? Probably most of the time.

Our idea of the month, however, is about this Good coming into manifestation and experience THROUGH YOU. There is no other way. No one can manifest your good for you. It must come through you. God is always giving you your Good, but you must accept it and receive it. God give to you by giving through you. That way, that channel is our consciousness. It comes through us through our consciousness. Whatever we think and feel and believe is what we get.

We must expand our consciousness if we are to experience greater and greater Good in our lives. So remember, God works through you. Are you making that process easy or hard?

Until next time,

July Idea of the Month

This month is it fitting to discuss freedom and independence since this month of July is associated with July 4 -- Independence Day here is the US.

We are all 100% free. We may not believe that. We may not act that way. But we are because we are 100% free to choose any thought we want. And that thought is our own freedom or bondage.

We have been given the gift of free will and self-determination. We are free or bound by our own thoughts. What can bind us can free us. And that is our own thoughts, self-contemplation and beliefs.
Our deeply-believed thoughts are what create our experiences. Our experiences make up our lives. Wherever you are today, at this moment, is because of the thoughts you have had and the beliefs you have habitually subjectified. We must remember to consciously choose our thoughts, stop repeating old habitual thinking and beliefs, and initiate a new path and pattern of thinking that we actually WANT!

As the USA celebrates the Fourth of July -- Independence Day -- let us know and claim our own freedom. We do that by consciously selecting thoughts that support us, thoughts that empower us, thoughts that delight us, thoughts that bring us Peace.

Declare your Independence from habitual thoughts that take you or keep you someplace you don't want to be. You are free. You are Free!

June Idea of the Month

Happy June, everyone! The weather has been glorious and this kind of weather make me feel alive!

This month we are talking about a crucial step in treatment and that is living from your demonstration. In other words, act as if. In still other words, make plans.

Make Plans

In order to demonstrate, we must impress upon our subconscious what our desire is. One sure-fire way of doing that is to act as if the demonstration has already occurred. Then the subconscious accepts the demonstration as normal and natural for you and it manifests it. And while you are acting as if, you obviously would make plans based on living in your demonstration. There are millions of examples. You treat for a car. Then start making plans to find an insurance agent. Start making plans to clean out the garage and donate those items to charity. Start making plans for that road trip you've wanted to take for ages.

See where we're going with this? Making plans removes all doubt that your desire will demonstrate. You cannot have doubt about your desire manifesting or it will not. We must convince ourselves. We must convince our subconscious. When we make concrete plans and act on them, it's like "no turning back" for your mind.

Have you used "acting as if" to manifest your desire? Share your experiences here.

So make your plans right now for the thing you desire most. The Universe must support you. It must support this consciousness.

Until next time,

Namaste

May Idea of the Month

This month we are talking about fear. Fear of our Good.

Yes we fear having our Good! Seems like it should be the opposite (and it should) but we do fear actually demonstrating our Good. Mostly it is fear of the unknown. It is fear of change.

Our desires are currently things we are not experiencing like a new relationship, a new home, a new job, etc. So in order to have these desires, things have to change. Thus the fear of change. In order to have these desires, we must move into experiences we have not had before. Thus the fear of the unknown.

These are real and normal fears. They may prevent us from asking that new person out on a date. They may stop us from moving to a new home. They may prevent us from going on job interviews. These are all fears of the process. The process of finding a new relationship or a new job -- and the related outcomes.

But we have to remember one great thing about our Good (desires): they are GOOD for us! They are good for us to experience or they would not be called our Good! Our Good can never harm us or another. Our Good can never be "bad" for us. Our Good can never be what we shouldn't have.

So work through or past the fear of the unknown or change. The Good we can experience can be so much greater than the fear that stops us.

Until next time,

February Idea of the Month

February is the month of LOVE.

Love is defined in The Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes as the givingness of Spirit to Itself. Love is the unconditional givingness of God to Itself.

If you read this month's newsletter feature article, you will get a very logical, methodical reasoning for the argument that God Loves You! God can't help love you. It is its nature to love you.

If God is giving to Itself, It has to give to you because you are part of It. It gives Itself to Itself and to you and me, that means God is giving Life, Love, Light, Power, Peace, Beauty, and Joy to us. Those qualities are God and It is giving Itself to Itself (disguised as us!!)

How does that make you feel? That God loves you. What can you expect when you know that God loves you? The list is endless, but I bet everything on that list is life-affirming, life-enhancing, joyful, and beautiful. Our lives can be this way if we just accept this Truth.

Enjoy this month of Love and remember throughout the year that God loves you.

Until next time,
Namaste

January Idea of the Month

Happy New Year to all!

A great time to think a New Thought in a New Year!

This month, we get back to basics. Back to the root, back to the heart of what we call spirituality.

Spirituality is, and Ernest Holmes would agree with me, is our relationship with the Divine Presence. It is the constant and consistent attempt to feel the Presence of God in everything and in everyone.

It is our recognition that this Presence exists. That this Presence is Good, Truth, Beauty, Peace, Power, and Love -- and only things of good report.

So how much we believe that, how much we recognize that, how much we acknowledge that is our relationship with it.

Is this relationship trusting? Is this relationship consistent? Is this relationship beneficial? Is this relationship interactive?

This is a good time to reflect on that relationship and its characteristics. Do we want to improve it?

Ultimately, do we want to make it a priority in our lives?

Knowing all good things can come to you in the new year, until next time,

Namaste
