December Idea of the Month

This month we are talking about never giving up.

Despite what it may look like, or how depressing or upsetting it may feel, we cannot give up on having our good. Whether that good is health, peace, harmony, or prosperity.

We have to keep putting demands on the Law to provide our Good.

This the mental discipline and spiritual practice we must employ. We must stay in the Truth that all there is is God and all there is is Good. We must know that we cannot be separate from our good. That despite appearances, we must stay "single-eyed" (focused) on what we have and what we want, and not on what we do not have.

Nothing can deny us our good. It is the Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. When you have convinced yourself of that, you will see the evidence of it.

Happy Holidays to all!

Until next time,

November Idea of the Month

November is the month of Thanksgiving. As a holiday and a spiritual practice.

Let's keep in mind the Divine Truth of this practice.

Giving thanks or gratitude is a profound spiritual practice. Gratitude, as Ernest Holmes says, is an attitude of recognition. It is affirming the very presence of God. It affirms our faith and belief in the Good. It affirms that there is a Divine Presence. It affirms that there is a Divine Source. It affirms that there is Divine Abundance. And that we have received and can continue to receive from it.

Gratitude confirms that we expect more of this Good. And if you remember from Step 4 of Spiritual Mind Treatment, whatever we expect, we get.

Giving thanks opens up our receptivity to even more Good. When we are grateful for what we have, it is through the Law that we will have even more to be grateful for.

It is an upward spiral of increase.

Have a wonderful holiday and practice Thanksgiving EVERY day of the year!

Until next time,

October Idea of the Month

This month we are talking about Divine Timing.

They say timing in life is everything. And that is absolutely true.

There are huge differences in life experiences because of timing. WHEN you do something can be more important than WHAT you do.

Did you invest before or after a financial crash? Did you submit your patent before or after someone with the same invention? Did you make that personal connection with someone before or after it was too late? Did you replace those old tires before or after you had a flat?

You may know what to do, but when to do it makes all the difference.

So how do you know when is the right time for anything?

Hate to break the news to you, but the human intellect will NEVER know when that perfect timing is. It's impossible. Only Divine Wisdom, Divine Intelligence knows when the perfect time is. And if we are to benefit from that Divine Wisdom, we will have to learn to listen to it!

That means listening to and heeding your intuition. It means getting quiet and listening to that still, small voice inside each of us. It means asking for and receiving Divine Guidance.

Your intuition is your connection to Divine Mind on the subconscious level. It is a direct pipeline to that Divine Mind. All the knowledge and wisdom is there. You just need access to it. Taking time each day to sit in the silence will give you that access. This sitting in silence does not have to be a formal meditation, although you could meditate as well. This sitting is just trying to clear your mind and be open to anything that Divine Guidance is trying to tell you. The revelations may not come in that moment. It may not come when you are silent. It may come in the middle of driving to work when your conscious thoughts are completely somewhere else! That is when you need to listen to that voice, that intuition. Don't blow it off as nothing. This is what you sat in the silence to hear!

Right action at the right time is the realm of Spirit. Give yourself a break and don't try to figure it all out intellectually. It will never happen that way. Be open to the Divine Wisdom within you and around you, and you will be divinely guided.

September Idea of the Month

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend.

Now it's back to work using your mind!

This month we discuss the Law of Mind. The metaphysical Law that is the Do-er of the Universe. Whatever manifests in this Universe is because the Law has brought it about. The Law is the Do-er but it cannot initiate anything of its own volition. It must be initiated by YOU and the thoughts you put into it.

This month's article is entitled: "Make Your Demand." You must put demands on the Law in order to create what you want in life. If not, the Law just perpetuates what it has already done for you -- that is why we often fall into recurring patterns. You can break those patterns the same way they started -- believe in something so strongly, you have no doubt. Choose a thought of what you want and believe you shall have it. The Law must do what you demand.

The Law is your servant. It's only job is to fulfill whatever is impressed upon it. You do the impressing by your thoughts and beliefs. If you do not consciously choose the direction you want the Law to do in, it has nothing else to work with than what it has already done for you -- be that what you want or what you don't want.

Make your demand. Believe it is fulfilled. Observe the manifestation in your life.

Until next time,

Namaste

August Idea of the Month

This month in the free monthly e-newsletter, we talk about that feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop. We talk about that feeling of dread or that something bad is going to happen. And the sense of "what else could go wrong" or Murphy's Law (what can go wrong, will go wrong).

All of that is an expectation of Bad. We must train our minds to expect Good instead.

This Universe operates within a set of laws. The Law of Mind can only give you what you have the consciousness for. It operates on a principle. You set the law in motion through conscious thought and subconscious beliefs.

You can only change your subconscious through conscious efforts. One of those efforts is to consciously expect good. Expect a good outcome in every circumstance, situation and problem. Expect that your needs are met. Expect that the loving givingness of God is always for you and never against you. Expect that you are always protected and provided for.

Why is it so much easier to expect the bad and not the good? Does that keep us from being disappointed? From getting our hopes up? Does it keep us from having to be responsible for our lives and what happens in them?

I suspect all the above. But here is the Truth: as Jesus said "it is the Father's great pleasure to give you the Kingdom." Good is waiting for us. Good is right there. Good is as achievable as Bad.

Expect the Kingdom. Accept the Kingdom. Live in the Kingdom.

Until next time,
Namaste

July Idea of the Month

Better late than never!

This month we talk about embracing change.

Change is Good!

What changes in our lives is the physical. It is the events, appearances, circumstances, outcomes, and experiences. When there are changes in any of these outward things, we know something has changed within.

Something has changed within our own consciousness. Now if that change we see is good and we like it, we know that our consciousness has accepted a new level of Good for ourselves. If that change is not so good, we know we have work to do. Our consciousness has accepted something less than good for us -- for whatever reason.

If we are stuck and see no change when we want to see change, time to think anew. Time to stretch our imaginations, time to move beyond our self-imposed limitations.

The only thing changeless is Truth. Truth is the one constant. Use your knowledge and acceptance of the Truth of you to go forward, to move upward, to express greater. That is your new jumping off point! Stay in the Truth and your changes will be welcomed and embraced and enjoyed!

Until next time,

June Idea of the Month

I don't think God enjoys seeing people suffer. There is no ability of the Life Principle to foist that upon Itself.

So we have to think: What's the point of going through a challenge if it does not benefit us in some way?

Punishment and suffering is not what Life is all about. That is not what God is all about.

When presented with a challenge, we must know and think that we will come out the better for it, that we will benefit somehow from it. If we put that demand on the Law -- that we do benefit from this situation -- the Law must comply.

We declare and demand that we benefit in ALL ways. Not just in physical terms like you get a new car after a car accident totals your old car. But in physical, emotional, and spiritual ways. In physical ways, we are healed and compensated. In emotional ways, we are comforted and supported. In spiritual ways, we grow closer to our Source in beliefs and faith.

It can be hard to see the good and how you benefit while in the midst of a serious circumstance. If you can't see this for yourself, go to a Religious Science Practitioner. Let him or her know your Good for you.

Just don't let this opportunity slip away. Don't suffer in vain. Don't set yourself up as a martyr. Declare your power, declare your right, declare your Good.

Until next time,
Namaste

May Idea of the Month

We continue our discussion of what to do when disaster strikes, what to do when we face a crisis, problems or challenges.

As we move through the experience, and eventually we will move through it, we can use it as an opportunity to grow in Spirit.

In dire situations, we may have nowhere else to turn but God. But that is the best place to turn no matter the severity of the situation.

Who or what better to deal with our challenges than Infinite Intelligence, Divine Wisdom, and Perfect Love and Harmony?

If we can have faith in this Intelligence and Wisdom, if we can turn the solutions over to God, we will be happy and satisfied with the resolution.

But can we stop thinking about the problem and rely on God for the solution? Or will we try to figure it all out, meddle with the perfect working of the Law?

Secure the end through Spiritual Mind Treatment and let the Law and God carry it out.

Until next time,
Namaste

April Idea of the Month

This month we are talking about things going from bad to worse! What many people in the New Thought movement call a dissipative structure -- when it seems like a chain reaction of one "bad" thing happening after another. Waiting for the other shoe to drop -- you know the feeling.

Dissipative structures, in science, are the tearing down before the building up of something stronger, bigger, greater. The tearing down must happen in order for the building up to commence. And here is the key: a dissipative structure would not occur if the building up afterwards was not a guarantee. In other words, a dissipative structure is not just destruction and that's the end of it. A dissipative structure by definition, means a building up must happen.

None of us are immune to problems and challenges. That is part of the human experience.

Our spiritual evolution, awakening, and understanding is to grow beyond our human experience. It is to know our true identity and our true selves.

Our true selves are greater than problems. Our true selves are stronger than challenges -- because our true selves are in partnership with God. We are individualizations of God. That means that we have the same ability to changing the ever-changing physical conditions with the unchanging, omnipresent power of Spirit.

Though a certain present condition may be difficult, we must stay in the truth, give no more power to that condition, turn from that condition to the solution in Spirit, and know that we come out the other side of it better, stronger, happier, and closer to God.

Ernest Holmes said the same thinking that got us into this problem cannot and will not be the thinking that gets us out of it. Our thinking must be to the solution, to the resolution, to the greater livingness that this problem presents -- not the problem itself.

It may not be easy. We have thousands of years of human experience living in conditional thinking. But that is what we must do. We must have the disciplne, the faith, and the loving kindness toward ourselves to let God "make it right."

March Idea of the Month

This month we talk about what we perceive to be prayers unanswered. But are they really?

I shared in this month's newsletter about a treatment request I made that appears to have been unfulfilled. Yet I gained something important just from the mere asking for a treatment from a licensed practitioner. My consciousness was raised. And that is ultimately what a treatment is meant to do!

Raising your consciousness does so much more for you than a temporary need fulfilled. Most people think of a demonstration as having received something you wanted -- whether that was money to pay an unexpected bill to a new relationship to a healing of an illness. But the true demonstration is that you developed a higher prosperity consciousness or a higher loving consciousness or a higher health consciousness and the result -- this time -- manifested as money for a bill or a new relationship or a healing.

Do you see the difference? The higher consciousness is not a one-time solution to a one-time problem. It is a new and sustained self-contemplation which will affect the next thing and the next thing and the next thing in your life. It changes the trajectory of your life.

That is a treatment demonstrated.

Februay Idea of the Month

As kind of a spin off from the idea of last month: You and your Good cannot be separated, this month we talk about Staying in the Truth.

Staying in the Truth is similar to you and your Good being one. Because the Truth is there is only the One. If there is only the One, you cannot be apart from anything, especially your Good.

Staying in the Truth is consciously remembering and living from the Truth. Despite appearances, despite experiences, despite anything that DOES NOT look like the Truth.

And this is not easy. Our brain is telling us to trust our eyes. Our intellect is telling us to make judgements about what we see.

But as the Bible says, "judge not by appearances but judge rightly" which means don't go be what your eyes see or what your intellect is telling you what is happening. Judge or think correctly. And that is judge or think with Truth as your foundation, with Truth as your guide.

Share your thought on "judging rightly".

Until next time,
Namaste

January Idea of the Month

First, Happy New Year to everyone.
Let's make 2013 your best year ever!

This first month of a brand new year, we talk about You and your Good.

You always have your Good. You cannot be separated from your Good. It may look that way, but you must stay committed to the idea that you have your Good, your Good cannot be taken from you in any way, and that you and your Good are One. If you do this, you will not experience the opposite.

This a challenging concept. Despite what appears, you must stay single-minded and affirm that you have your Good always. It takes discipline to not fall into the trap of being a "victim" of circumstance. You have your Good! Even if things don't change right away, stay committed to your good idea.

I'm working on a situation right now and I cannot allow myself to accept anything less than my Good. I cannot have any doubt that I will experience my Good in a particular situation. I must be patient. I must not give up!

As Winston Churchill once told a graduating class: "Never, never, never, never, never, never, never give up."

Post your thoughts below.
